CHAPTER THREE
BE READY AGAINST THE THIRD DAY
“AND THE LORD SAID UNTO MOSES, GO UNTO THE PEOPLE, AND SANCTIFY THEM TODAY AND TOMORROW, AND LET THEM WASH THEIR CLOTHES. AND BE READY AGAINST THE THIRD DAY: FOR THE THIRD DAY THE LORD WILL COME DOWN IN THE SIGHT OF ALL THE PEOPLE UPON MOUNT SINAI. AND MOSES WENT DOWN FROM THE MOUNT UNTO THE PEOPLE, AND SANCTIFIED THE PEOPLE; AND THEY WASHED THEIR CLOTHES. AND HE SAID UNTO THE PEOPLE, BE READY AGAINST THE THIRD DAY: COME NOT AT YOUR WIVES. AND IT CAME TO PASS ON THE THIRD DAY IN THE MORNING, THAT THERE WERE THUNDERS AND LIGHTNINGS, AND A THICK CLOUD UPON THE MOUNT, AND THE VOICE OF THE TRUMPET EXCEEDING LOUD; SO THAT ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE CAMP TREMBLED.” (Exodus 19:10,11,14,15,16)
In these verses, we see several mysteries revealed. First of all, we see TWO DAYS of sanctification. These two days represent the last two thousand years according to the revelation of Peter, Enoch, Barnabas, The Book of Jubilees, the Psalms, the rabbis and countless others who were aware of God’s DAY being as a Thousand years. The Church Age has come to an end. The Bride has made herself READY! “LET US BE GLAD AND REJOICE, AND GIVE HONOUR TO HIM: FOR THE MARRIAGE OF THE LAMB IS COME, AND HIS WIFE HAS MADE HERSELF READY.” (Revelation 19:7) The last two thousand years have been years of washing, sanctification, separateness, and preparation! The WASHING of their clothes represents the REGENERATION and BAPTISM. “NOT BY WORKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH WE HAVE DONE, BUT ACCORDING TO HIS MERCY HE SAVED US, BY THE WASHING OF REGENERATION, AND RENEWING OF THE HOLY GHOST.” (Titus 3:5) The word WASHING means BAPTISM, which is a full immersion into the waters of cleansing. Now we know that we are washed by the word of God, for our Lord Jesus Christ said; “SANCTIFY THEM THROUGH THY TRUTH: THY WORD IS TRUTH.” (John 17:17) And Ephesians 5:26,27 declares, “THAT HE MIGHT SANCTIFY AND CLEANSE IT WITH THE WASHING OF WATER BY THE WORD. THAT HE MIGHT PRESENT IT TO HIMSELF A GLORIOUS CHURCH, NOT HAVING SPOT, OR WRINKLE, OR ANY SUCH THING; BUT THAT IT SHOULD BE HOLY WITHOUT BLEMISH.”
So it is in this prophetic Third Day that we are to be washed and sanctified. This is not an outward act, but an inward one. The washing that is taking place in the last two thousand years has been that of the SOUL! My wife has written a book called DELIVERANCE, THE CHRISTIAN’S BILL OF RIGHTS, which explains this truth clearly. She records scripture after scripture on the necessity of the cleansing of the soul and the entire deliverance of it, for within the soul, is where the battle rages. It is there that the strongholds of the enemy are built up, where demonic spirits have invaded and all sickness, disease and death have their origin. The soul of man is sick and needs to be made whole. This is what Jesus came to do: SET THE CAPTIVES FREE! The work begins in the SOUL! I encourage you to read her book for greater understanding. Now it is clear that the washing and sanctification we have spoken of is to PREPARE A PEOPLE FOR THE LORD! BE READY AGAINST THE THIRD DAY! We are now living in the first seconds of this New Millennium. It is very early in the Third Day, and God has a people who have been made clean that he may appear to.
We are told that God will come down IN THE SIGHT of all the people. In this new day there are going to be what I call SPIRITUAL SIGHTINGS! There is an INSIGHT that God’s people possess that has been sanctified and made clean. Our inward vision is now clear and we are able to SEE what others do not. These words are confirmed by the words of Jesus when he told his disciples; “BECAUSE IT IS GIVEN UNTO YOU TO KNOW THE MYSTERIES OF THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, BUT TO THEM IT IS NOT GIVEN. BUT BLESSED ARE YOUR EYES, FOR THEY SEE: AND YOUR EARS, FOR THEY HEAR. (Matthew 13:11,16) Jesus also said these words; “BLESSED ARE THE PURE IN HEART FOR THEY SHALL SEE GOD.” (Matthew 5:8) Once we have been sanctified and made clean, our conscience is clear and we are full of light. In that pure light and clear conscience, God is able to reveal himself without distortion or confusion. The conscience of the people in Moses’ day was darkened because the blood of bulls and goats could not remove the stain of sin from the conscience. Their meeting with God was one of darkness, fear and terror.
However, as we move into the New Testament we find that we are a people who have NOT come to that mount that burned with fire, but unto the city of the living God! (See Hebrews 12:18-24) The BLOOD of Jesus Christ has cleansed our conscience from dead works and has removed from it the guilt, shame and condemnation of SIN! As we have allowed the blood of Christ to cleanse us, we have become more and more prepared to receive him! Please read Hebrews 8, 9, and 10 to see how the blood has REMOVED SIN FROM OUR CONSCIENCES.
BE READY AGAINST THE THIRD DAY! (Exodus 19:11) This passage is so clear. Throughout the Scriptures, God calls his people to be READY! We can only be ready AFTER we have been cleansed, fully immersed into the waters of Baptism and regeneration, being born again by the incorruptible word of God. Now, in this Third Day, we declare that the blood has done its work within us and we are prepared to receive the Lord in our inward new man. Now let God arise and come down into our sights that we may behold Him who is glorious and wonderful. Let us no longer fear because of an old Adamic nature but realize that we are new creatures washed in the blood of the Lamb and are now ready. Let God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ, along with the Holy Spirit, come and make their habitation within us that we may be the mobile tabernacle of God in the earth. For truly we are His dwelling place.
In this Third Day, a people have prepared themselves for the FULLNESS OF GOD! ARE YOU READY? We note also in the passages in Exodus that it was in the MORNING of the Third Day that God came down. We are the people of the morning, as it is written in Hosea 6:3: “THEN SHALL WE KNOW, AS WE FOLLOW ON TO KNOW THE LORD: HIS GOING FORTH IS PREPARED AS THE MORNING; AND HE SHALL COME UNTO US AS THE RAIN, AS THE LATTER AND FORMER RAIN UNTO THE EARTH.” Here we see that God is coming to us as the rain in the MORNING! This speaks of the anointing and the Holy Spirit. This is none other than the outpouring of His Spirit spoken of in Joel and in the book of Acts. Yet in this prophetic Third Day and Seventh day he is coming with Double Portion power to take possession of heaven and earth! Another thought concerning the words, “COME NOT AT YOUR WIVES” (Exodus 19:15): this refers to attempting to meet with God from the position of the soul. We have been made alive; that is, our spirits have been raised from the dead. We are to meet with God from within our spirits.
Too often the Church has attempted to meet with God from a soulical position, only to be frustrated and turned away. The soul must be brought into subjection to our spirits as our spirits are subjected to the Holy Spirit. This is explained carefully in my wife’s book. Let me say a sobering word at this point. The Lord said the last days would be as the days of Noah and Lot. He said that we must be ready. Our being made ready to receive the fullness of Christ is not just for our enjoyment but also to have the ability to walk through the times that lie ahead. The Lord is not going to receive to himself an UNPREPARED BRIDE! There is a false security among so-called believers today that must be shaken. We are being called upon in this day to be ready, for we know not what hour the Lord does come. There are three verses I would like to share before moving on to the next mystery. These verses conclude that there will be a people in the earth that will be having inward revelations and visions of the Lord.
“JUDAS SAID UNTO HIM, NOT ISCARIOT, LORD, HOW IS IT THAT YOU WILL MANIFEST YOURSELF UNTO US, AND NOT UNTO THE WORLD? JESUS SAID UNTO HIM, IF A MAN LOVE ME, HE WILL KEEP MY WORDS: AND MY FATHER WILL LOVE HIM, AND WE WILL COME UNTO HIM, AND MAKE OUR ABODE WITH HIM.” (John 14:22-23)
“FOR I RECKON THAT THE SUFFERINGS OF THIS PRESENT TIME ARE NOT WORTHY TO BE COMPARED WITH THE GLORY WHICH SHALL BE REVEALED IN US.”(Romans 8:18)
“WHEN HE SHALL COME TO BE GLORIFIED IN HIS SAINTS AND TO BE ADMIRED IN ALL THEM THAT BELIEVE.” (2Thess. 1:10) Are you ready for the spiritual sightings of the Lord in your inne most being? For I tell you that when He comes, your life will be changed and you will begin to rule like a queen next to her KING!
